The Regional prehistory Museum of Menton

Rue Lorédan Larchey, 06500 Menton
  • Menton's first municipal museum was the brainchild of a self-taught naturalist and archaeologist, Stanislas Bonfils (1823 - 1909).

The first floor is devoted to the presentation of regional prehistoric collections, showing visitors the evolution of man and the regional territory over the last 1,200,000 years. This exhibition, updated in 2022, illustrates how human populations since prehistoric times have dealt with current issues such as climate change and its direct impact on biodiversity.
In the basement, the "Trésors d'épaves" exhibition retraces the history of our region through hundreds of archaeological remains plucked from the depths of the seabed.
  • One museum admission per Pass.
All year except Tuesdays, January 1, May 1, November 1 and December 25. From 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 6pm. Difficult or impossible access for people with reduced mobility.
