- In Gilette, between sea and mountains, a surprising museum amidst olive trees was opened in 1999. Pierre-Guy Martelly, an iron sculptor, created this space to pass on the history of local crafts and the traditional skills of yesteryear.
In his quest for an ideal of the past, he has recreated a real outdoor village in the image of his childhood memories. Here, vintage vehicles and craft stalls are staged to make the experience of the past more immersive.
Between local history and anecdotes of all kinds, this enthusiast guides you step by step on an astonishing stroll where real scale and miniature are skillfully blended. In the streets of this atypical museum, several worlds follow one another until you come upon a miniature Provencal village that will come to life before your very eyes: Forge Ville.
